#041

the sky smells acidic-
i run over pebbles, an
acoustic sunset resonates in
full-blown waves-

equinox recalescent
algae splinters crowd ankles,
and toenails;
memories wither under naked feet

i count back from infinity-

  1. “equinox recalescent
    algae splinters crowd ankles,
    and toenails”

    Holy cow. That is awesome. And then you go and end with this:

    “i count back from infinity”

    How could you ever even begin such an endeavor? There is so much sadness and loss in this … to me, anyway. But so very beautiful, especially with all the natural elements woven throughout. Beautiful work, as always, my dear.

  2. I think this poem is extraordinary! The idea of so much swirling around in the undercurrents of our memory while wading in the water stirring up other undercurrents contrasts so nicely. Thanks so much for sharing this!
