darkness snuggles close-
desolation burns bright at windows-
blood red skies
haemorrhaging overhead
owls hoot,
werewolves are home
the moon isn’t up tonight
in shadows, secrets lurk-
eyes obsidian-
vapors of midnight spent
panting, palpitating

Hemorrhaging skies…powerful…
I love the ending:
“eyes obsidian-
vapors of midnight spent
panting, palpitating”
And also this: “desolation burns bright at windows”
Spooky.
Really enjoyed this… especially the last stanza!
You’ve set the tone for Halloween perfectly!
Gosh, this is real creepy. Look behind you:)
very creative…..vivid images….
So beautiful and real ! , dark moon right now too. Funny though we are opposite in terms of sun, north and south. Our moon phase is the same. Darkness is very uniform ?
I like the use of words to create good vision. A excellent poem.
Quite a powerful image – skies that hemorrhage.
