Ophelia

i am vertical-
a skein of gypsum, half-
dissolved,
diaph a n o u s

wrists ribboned
(lest they
bleed, pool red
in pale azul)

and i am left-
untied, floating
soul-LESS
a figment of You

on this side of separation: trapped

  1. THis take on Ophelia, with its twists and turns, the “diaphanous” stretched with spaces to become truly diaphanous (clever and not at all contrived), the gut-wrenching “sight” of the bloodied wrists, “ribboned…” All was original and haunting. I’m so glad you linked up at Real Toads, Mohana! Amy
